brandon marshall is a THUG

During Dolphins' practice, Brandon Marshall punted a ball over the fence out of frustration after he dropped a short pass in the endzone.

SMH #1

From the SMH Files:

National Enquirer, of course, was the source of this. I wouldn't say the outside world despises him, though.

I wasn't sure whether to be disgusted by this or simply applaud it. I'm sure Fred Goldman never envisioned this as the prison punishment for  O.J. Simpson. They love him there.

treading thin ice

Michael Vick will not be released by the Philadelphia Eagles despite rumors that have been deflected in a statement issued Saturday.

"Bad judgment" seems to be the phrase associated with the Eagles quarterback when given the reasoning behind his participation, or lack thereof, with the shooting that occurred at his birthday bash on June 15.

I hate when I lose my wallet.

when off-season activities go wrong...

From NY Daily News:

Steve Smith of the Carolina Panthers is used to taking a beating. He's a receiver in the NFL, so getting banged around on the gridiron is a normal day at the office. You would think he'd be okay playing a game of flag football, where there's a lot less contact.

Smith didn't come out of the flag football game at his camp for kids okay, though.

"They were messing around, the ball went over his head and he slipped," Smith's agent, Derrick Fox told the Associated Press on Monday. "He put his arm out to brace himself. When he did, he felt a sharp pain."

The 31-year-old receiver broke his left forearm, and may miss most of training camp.

X-rays taken Sunday showed a break, and Smith went under the knife later that day, where doctors put a plate and screws in his arm, which was broken at the end of last season. Fox says that the break is in a different spot.

There is no nerve damage in the arm. Smith is expected to make a full recovery. He could return by the halfway mark of training camp, but the team is hoping he'll be ready for their opener against the Giants at New Meadowlands Stadium on Sept. 12.

Tough break, Stevonne. I'll attend your stiff arm's funeral, however. The good always die young.
